ROLLING INGOTS
1. Product
The present specifications describe the standard characteristics of aluminium rolling ingots
in the alloy series 1xxx, 3xxx, 5xxx, 6xxx, 7xxx and 8xxx.
2. Chemical composition
Each charge is alloyed according to the order specifications of the customer.
A certificate according to EN 10204 3.1B is delivered with each charge. Analysis is performed
with the automatic Spectrolab Robotic ME optical emission spectrometer. The laboratory is
RvA accredited according to EN 17025 (Sterlab).
3. Charge
Minimum net charge size: 20 tonnes.
Maximum gross charge size: 30 tonnes.
4. Dimensions

5. Tolerances
Length: the rolling ingots are delivered in unsawn condition, except when the sawing conditions
are written on the order. The tolerance is ± 100 mm.
Width: the tolerance is ± 5 mm (excluding butt zone).
Thickness: the tolerance is ± 5 mm ; measured 100 mm from the edge of the slab excluding the
butt-length. In the butt zone max. 30 mm (unsawn) resp. 20 mm (sawn) thicker than
the nominal value.
Convexity: 3 mm per side.
Longitudinal bow rolling surface: max. 1 mm/200 mm or 6 mm over the total length.
Lateral bow: max. 2 mm/100 mm or 6 mm over the total length.
6. Marking
The ingots are marked according to customer specification.
Standard identification:
- Head side
- Delfzijl
- Casting number
- Ingot number
Longitudinal side with barcode label
- DELFZIJL
- Casting number
- Ingot number
- Customer alloy-code
- Length
- Ingot size code
- Net weight
7. Packaging
Each ingot is packed with steel or nylon straps on wooden spacers (90 x 120 mm.
The length of the spacers is related to the width of the ingot.
